Majorette is celebrating sixty years, and the party is happening at the Toy Kingdom Toy Expo launching some unreleased products never before sold at general retail. There's some eye catching new products you'll probably don't know that did not exist and it's all in this event. These cars ranging from American, European, and Asian-branded licensed cars in die-cast certainly the highlight of the showcase the brand has to offer. But the flagship brand for their die-cast toys is by Majorette that's getting quite the attention of the local enthusiasts because of the latest range of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) model cars.

Hot Wheels has been on top of its game when it comes to affordable die-cast models that have been universally adored by kids and adult collectors for more than fifty years and even continue to be the most glorified brand when it comes to toy cars. Of course, Hot Wheels is no doubt the most familiar brand when it comes to toy cars as “Colgate” is a toothpaste brand. Every child who lives in the mid-80s has known the “blue” brand as that was the era it asserted itself to be known for “edgy” cars with bright colours and ridiculous modified cars.

They say, better late than never. Finally, a new Majorette assortment celebrating 60 years of the brand has started rolling out at Toy Kingdom stores these past weeks. Majorette has been celebrating the brand’s anniversary early this year, but the local releases in the Philippines were not as updated as some would entirely expect with its distributor at the same time the lack of new stock on the pegs. It may not be a bit late for Majorette’s presence in the local retail, but it sure is being included as one of the die-cast brands featured at the event center for the weekend beside the Toy Kingdom flagship store in SM Megamall.

River Adventures | Sand Shredder

The Sand Shredder is an unlicensed All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), which is also a Matchbox Original. It is for most into this hobby is an underrated vehicle. It’s not as scaled as the usual 1/64 scale Matchbox Car, but it stands out to appeal to those who are into the great outdoors. It’s one of those Matchbox Originals that gets attention from a specific market that is into 4x4 or into this type of recreational vehicle. This is before Matchbox acquired the Polaris license, who produce real-life ATVs. There have been unlicensed vehicles similar to the San Shredder, but this one certainly is a Matchbox ATV!

Hot Wheels has become widely known in the Philippines because of its availability through retail channels in department stores, toy stores, and convenience stores. For those unaware, 7-Eleven has been carrying Hot Wheels since the 2000s.The earliest sighting of Hot Wheels cars on pegs started being seen in 2005. It’s almost 20 years since it happened. But not consistently as you’d expect. The idea of seeing Hot Wheels assortment at a convenient store like 7-Eleven in the Philippines is inconsistent. They never actively stocked, unlike in foreign countries, where not only does 7-Eleven get some die-cast cars, but they also get a wide assortment of toys.
